Engaging

I want to grab hold of you and pull you in. When you want to know more about a character or a place, what’s going to happen next, or what’s happening behind the scenes, I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.

Entertaining

That really says it all. If you’re having fun, I’m doing it right. Sometimes, I do want to frustrate you, make you feel like you’re missing something, or confuse you. When that happens where I expect it, I’m on the right track.

In the end, I’d like my stories to be more like a rollercoaster with ups and downs and twists and turns, but I don’t want you to get sick (well, not too sick).

Thought-Provoking

When you have to put the book down to think because something I wrote inspired a thought, that is an incredible honor. You don’t even have to be thinking about what I wrote. Planting a seed is enough. Just the thought of doing it is humbling.
